PGA Europro Tour
Following the success of the past 4 years' events, Stoke by Nayland Golf Club will again be hosting the PGA Europro Tour this year, for which there is a £40,000 prize fund, from Wednesday 25th to Friday 27th June 2008, with a Pro Am on Monday 23rd June. Hosting the PGA Europro Tour is a major coup for the Club, bringing with it substantial media attention which has in turn greatly increased our International profile. Most significantly, Sky Sports TV film both the Pro Am and the 3-day championship at the end of June, and the 2 hour programme, which is totally dedicated to the Stoke by Nayland Club event, is then broadcasted in mid July on Sky Sports 1 and 2, in 4 prime time slots, followed by a roll out to over 100 countries worldwide over the following 6 weeks. This undoubtedly provides extensive exposure for the Club and all sponsors involved.
The 3 day event will again be preceded by our popular Pro Am competition, where all teams will include some of the top International Professionals playing in the Europro Tour. The Pro Am is open to all amateurs, members and non-members.

Stoke by Nayland's own Jamie Moul excels in the Europro Tour qualifying rounds
Stoke by Nayland’s prodigy, Jamie Moul, aged 22, who has just turned professional and at one stage last year was the World’s No 1 Amateur, showed fine form at the PGA EuroPro Tour Qualifying School rounds at both Frilford Heath and Stoke by Nayland this month. He finished both rounds with an excellent overall 3 under par, coming 2nd overall out of the 258 international professionals, missing the number one spot by only 1 stroke. He will certainly be one to watch at the Europro Tour event from 25th – 27th June at Stoke by Nayland.
The Europro Tour provides vital experience of life on the tour circuit to not only help lift players to the level required for the main European Tour, but also to prepare them for the challenges that await once they get there. The Tour provides a chance for up and coming young professionals to gain the necessary experience in competitive golf, and in particular of the additional pressures involved with televised competitions.
Every event on the Tour is shown as a two-hour highlights programme on Sky Sports in the UK, as well as being shown on the Golf Channel in the USA , Viasat in Scandinavia, ESPN Latin America and ESPN Star throughout Asia .
The Tour aims to provide a launchpad for the stars of tomorrow. The prize fund for each regular event is £40,000, with £10,000 going to the winner.
Danny Nickless, operations manager for the PGA EuroPro Tour, said: "2007 was the best year yet for the PGA EuroPro Tour and with players such as Marc Warren, Zane Scotland, Lee Slattery and Ross Fisher, who have all played on the Tour, coming through and playing so great on the world stage we are really starting to see the fruits of our labour.”
